MIBCO, the Motor Industry Bargaining Council, supports employment conditions and benefits in the motor industry. Retirement savings are held through the applicable Motor Industry Retirement Funds, with MIFA as the fund administrator. Contributions depend on the fund and the applicable rules; they should not be treated as one fixed percentage for every employee.
Your claim depends on the fund and the benefit you qualify for. Retirement savings, sick or accident benefits, maternity benefits and holiday pay have different rules and application processes. Check the official fund-benefit information before choosing a claim form.

MIBCO Requirements
The documents you need depend on the fund and type of claim. Use the current claim form and have the following details ready where requested:
- Your details
- Your full name as it appears on your identity documents.
- Your identity number.
- Your membership or fund reference number, where requested.
- Your own current contact details.
- For a separate sick, accident or maternity claim, provide the medical and other documents required by that benefit’s form; this is not the same as withdrawing retirement savings.
- Your payment details
- Provide the bank details and proof requested by the official administrator.
- The name of the account holder.
- Your bank account number.
- The bank name and branch code.
- Your employer’s details
- The name of the Motor company where you work or are about resigning from.
- The company’s code which it got upon registering with MIBCO. Contact the Regional Motor Industry Bargaining Council office to know if your company is registered. Kindly note that it is important that your company is MIBCO registered to enable you to access your provident fund.

If you longer work at a company, you can contact their human resource (HR) department to know into which account your MIBCO fund is deposited and the company’s registration information.

- Submit through the official administrator’s stated channel and follow its verification instructions. Processing times vary; payment is not guaranteed in four to six weeks.
A benefit is paid only when the conditions for that fund and claim are met. Retirement savings are not automatically available as a lump sum for any personal expense. Confirm the withdrawal, retirement or other benefit rules with the administrator, including any applicable tax and retirement-component restrictions.
