University of Limpopo (UL) Online Application

The University of Limpopo is the number one ranked University in Mankweng and number 16 in South Africa. Its vision is to be a “leading African University focused on the developmental needs of its communities and epitomizing academic excellence and innovativeness.” They have four faculties to choose from, which are Health Sciences, Science and Agriculture, Humanities and Management, and Law.

There is great interest in attending the University of Limpopo, so the school has had to limit the number of first-year students they admit. They are moving more classes to an online platform and hope they will be able to accept more students once the transfer has been completed.

If you are considering submitting an application to the University of Limpopo, here is some valuable information to help guide you through the process:

How to Apply

Applying to Limpopo is an easy process as long as you have all the required documentation. It can be done entirely online; in fact, the university is trying to make it so that hardcopy applications are no longer accepted.

When filling out your application, you must list your first and second study choices on the application. These programmes will review your documents and decide whether or not to accept you into the school.

Suppose you are planning to apply online for admission to the University of Limpopo, and you are a South African citizen. In that case, you will need to provide certified copies of the following documents:

· Your ID

· Your parent or guardian’s ID or passport if you are not yet 18 years of age

· National Senior Certificate

· Your final Grade 11 results with the school’s stamp if you are still in Grade 12

· Your academic record if you are currently a student at another institution of higher learning.

If you are an international student, you will also need:

  • Your passport
  • USAF accreditation from the examination board for South African universities

You can complete your entire application through the university’s website and is free of charge. If you meet all the requirements, you will receive a provisional letter of acceptance; this, however, does not mean you have been officially accepted. The programme you are interested in will review your documents to see if you meet their criteria. It usually takes four weeks for an application to be thoroughly processed, so do not check back before that time.

If you prefer to apply using a hardcopy application, there will be a charge of R220 for citizens and R330 for international students.

Requirements

According to the University of Limpopo’s website, any potential students who are hoping to gain entry to an undergraduate programme at the university should fulfil the following requirements:

· Life Orientation with an achievement level of at least three.

· English as a language of learning and teaching with an achievement level of at least three.

· The required Admission Point Score (APS) of each faculty. You will need to calculate your APS score prior to submitting your application.

Please be advised, meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance. The programmes are competitive, and only 45% of those who apply will be admitted. The university is hoping to increase the number of students who are accepted once all classes are held online; until then, acceptance is very selective.

Application Dates

Potential students are encouraged to apply as far in advance as possible, and it is extremely important to submit their completed application prior to the deadline. For the MBChB programme, the deadline is 28 September 2021. All other programmes have a deadline of 30 October 2021. The university’s online portal will shut down after the application date has passed. If you miss the deadline, you will have to wait until next year to apply for programmes.

Registration

After your application is accepted, you will be given access to register for modules on the school’s designated dates. It is simple to register; you will access the online portal using your credentials and follow the steps provided. At the moment, all registration is being completed online, and you are only able to register on the assigned dates which have already passed for 2021.

For more information about the University of Limpopo’s application and registration process, you can contact them directly through their website.

Best of luck in your continued learning.
